En 2013 des habitants d’Awoingt tombent sous le charme d’un village du ROYAUME UNI Angleterre - région des MIDLANDS ( capitale BIRMINGHAM ) - comté de STAFFORDSHIRE, dénommé ELFORD. Ils ont la chance de rencontrer des « ELFORDIANS » francophiles : une amitié est née. Pour sceller leur amitié ELFORDIANS et « LEUS » créent chacun une association afin de proposer le projet de JUMELAGE à leur Conseil Municipal qui, finalement, le votera à l’unanimité ! À AWOINGT l’association « Amitié ELFORD – AWOINGT - CAMBRESIS » devient chargée d’animer le JUMELAGE. Les correspondances entre les villageois sont multiples ; les deux écoles primaires sont très actives dans les échanges épistolaires et visioconférences. Les habitants se rencontrent une fois par an, alternativement à AWOINGT et ELFORD. Du 12 au 15 mai 2023, AWOINGT accueillera nos amis anglais
In 2013, some inhabitants of Awoingt fell under the spell of a village in the UNITED KINGDOM - ENGLAND - MIDLANDS region (capital BIRMINGHAM) - STAFFORDSHIRE county, called ELFORD. They have the chance to meet Francophile "ELFORDIANS" : a will vote for it unanimously ! friendship is born. To seal their friendship, ELFORDIANS and "LEUS" each create an association to propose the TWINNING project to their Parish Council which, in the end, In AWOINGT the association "Amitié ELFORD - AWOINGT - CAMBRESIS" becomes responsible for animating the TWINNING. The correspondences between the villages are multiple; the two primary schools are very active in letter exchanges and videoconferences. The inhabitants meet up once a year, alternately in AWOINGT and ELFORD. From May 12th to 15th 2023, AWOINGT will welcome our English friends
